The first ever drawing of one my favorite characters to write for in Questo's World, Mickey Houndfair Jr., then known as Mickey Goldstein, because he's a Golden-Retriever. His name Mickey was inspired by eateries I either visited or observed with names like Rickey's, Nicky's or Dickey's. I was looking for a name that sounded friendly to add more irony to the concept of his character, Mickey came to mind.
Early on, his character was actually supposed to be loyal, but later, I decided it would be stronger and deciably more interesting to be the total opposite of the loyalty generally found in canines to go along with the satirical commentary and humor of the Questo's World concept. I was under the impression that not many people understood his character. It was also better that his character was more of an anti-hero rather than a straight up antagonist, (same thing with Ms. Amor) making it less one-sided. I like Mickey because of the backstories revolving around his father, Mickey Houndfair Sr.
His character definitely took some time to get to where he is today. Let me know what are your thoughts are on Mickey Houndfair. Any questions are welcome too!
