Happy 1st (Belated) Anniversary to "Questo's World"
Boy, I'm mad at myself for being a month late for this important event!
A month ago is the official 1st anniversary for "Questo's World".
Over the course from August of 2021 to August of 2022, there has been a lot of evolution of "Questo's World". While the following of the strip is still small, I'm glad to have at least some folks acknowledge my work. I'm happy to have a lot of things I get to discuss in the strip, dealing with topics about metaphysics, psychology, perception, business, society, alienation, philosophy and the whole concept of self, and to see how much the characters have become so fully-fleshed, thorough and developed, both in designs and overall aspects through the comic's surrealistic, abstract, sophisticated and satirical tone.
Originally, having no plans to be doing a comic strip after the one experimental one that I had done in April 2nd, 2021, but I figured to get my idea out and to develop my vision of the concept was to do strips instead of more animation. Hopefully, as time go by, the strip's audiences will eventually grow more and more.
I'm also have glad to introduce a new character to the strip I've created well-before I ever thought of the strip, Candy Cottontail, the center of sweetness of the comics who balances the cynical, self-serving Mickey Houndfair Jr. and Ms. Amor. Originally, the "Questo's World" concept was a sister series to another original idea I did, The Quackston Brothers (collectively named "Animalistic"), characters who I haven't used in while, and as a result, just gave up on using, since I felt The Quackston Brothers didn't bring anything new to the table like Questo did, though I still liked them.
On a personal note, I think the comics have become great. Better detail to art, update to character designs, funnier dialogue and, best of all, the subtleties and layers to every element. Questo became a character who I just simply adored and loved writing for the most, which also goes for the others, like Mickey Houndfair, Ms. Amor, Miss Warthite and Quinn & Quincy, characters. From the beginning, I wasn't at all use to the format of comic strips, as before I rarely read any and because I'm more use to the storyboarding format, I began to understand what makes a good comic strip with the help of some influences like Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes, The Boondocks, Dilbert and Bloom County. Now, I'am in love with it, and felt it gave a lot to be desired.
Thanks for the supports and likes who read my strips, and I'll be looking forward to making more. Maybe one day, I'll do a like Q&A, if anyone is interested. Please let me know.
